Understanding A.I.: One size does not fit all
Combining new technologies to provide the right solutions
As A.I. has gained more popularity in recent years, several technology companies including the top tier firms have jumped in by creating toolsets that would enable enterprises to build chatbots and other customer engagement solutions. But they all come with its own upsides and downsides. Which is why we believe, there is a significant risk for enterprises to lock in with a single A.I. vendor.
Below are a few examples of risks involved in locking in with a single vendor:
- A single vendor might offer the best solution for large document understanding but might not have the best solution for Natural Language Understanding.
- Several big vendors will require you to bring your data to their cloud platform. Which would require investment in time and resources to transition from your current cloud platform to the vendors. It might not be in line with your corporate cloud strategy.
- Once it is brought to that cloud, it would be difficult to switch to a different cloud platform in the future.
- Jack of all trades, king of none. Larger vendors might have a comprehensive set of APIs for several functions but some APIs might not function as well as others.
Before jumping into a single solution, enterprises need to do think about what needs to be accomplished and assess if that A.I. platform is the best fit.
At chirrp, we recommend using the right technology for the right use case, a best of breed in creating your A.I. solution. We have had clients for whom, we have used a combination of technologies to provide the right solution. This has enabled them to achieve desired results and has the flexibility to use their choice of a broader cloud platform.
The good news in all this is that there are plenty of great tools that when put together diligently will create the right solution for your business needs and bring value to your customers.
